About Compass Retractable Screens

Compass Renovations was formed in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy to help meet the extensive renovation needs left in its wake. Over the past few years, the company has made a deliberate shift toward specializing exclusively in retractable screens—an offering that originally began as an add-on to our deck business. By narrowing our focus, we are able to deliver a higher level of service, craftsmanship, and attention to detail than ever before.

As part of this renewed focus, we have introduced a DBA name: Retractable Screens of South Jersey (RSSJ). While Compass Renovations remains the corporate entity, our DBA more accurately reflects the specialized work we now provide. To support this direction, we have expanded our vendor lineup. In addition to Mirage, we now offer products from Maestroshield and Fenetex. Together, these manufacturers allow RSSJ to meet a wide range of screen project requirements—often providing solutions that other companies simply cannot.

Compass Renovations serves all of Southern New Jersey with high-quality retractable screen products and professional installation. The company has been established for over 13 years, backed by more than 40 years of construction experience. Customer satisfaction has always been a top priority, which is why we take the time to understand each client’s needs and follow through with dependable, high-quality results.

My broader construction background includes managing nearly 100 restaurant builds, numerous custom homes, two church projects, and framing tens of thousands of square feet of both custom and production homes. While I continue to take on broader construction work on occasion, focusing on retractable screens as a niche allows me greater control over my time, my workmanship, and the overall quality delivered to each customer.

The focus has changed. The lineup has changed. The name has changed. All these changes help make us a better retractable screen company.
